The T5224 from Emachines is among the best options available for an economy computer. While it’s not suited for graphics-intensive games like Crysis or F.E.A.R., it’ll play many real time strategy games smoothly.

Aside from the dual-core Pentium D that runs at 2.8 GHz, and the 1 GB of memory that make day to day use worry-free, it has a 250 GB hard drive that’s perfect for storing music and videos. If you take a lot of pictures, you’ll be able to plug just about any memory card into the T5224 with its 15-in-1 card reader.

Emachines has put together another good computer for a great price in the T5224. It’s a true economy computer that goes beyond economy class performance and upgradeability.

The eMachines T5224 is the first true budget-class PC we've seen with Windows Vista on it. We mostly like what we've seen so far, but we can't help but wonder what would happen if Gateway/eMachines took better advantage of AMD's aggressive chip pricin
