Dell's Adamo Super Slim Luxury Laptop Is Here
It should be no surprise to anyone that Dell's answer to the MacBook Air and other ultra-ultraportables costs a pretty penny--$2000 up to $2700 to be precise. Maybe it's a bad time for a costly luxury item like a waferthin laptop, but as far as feature and aesthetics go, Dell's much anticipated Adamo has a lot to offer for those willing to pay big bucks in times of strife. Specs, info and all the rest after the jump.Main specs on the standard issue Adamo include:
- 1.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor
- 2GB or RAM
- 128 GB solid state hard drive
- 13.4-inch WLED display
- Full size keyboard
- 1.3 megapixel webcam
The maximized version of the Adamo has more or less the same feature set, but with mobile broadband, 4GB of RAM and a slightly faster 1.4GHz processor. The Adamo weighs in at four pounds, and is .65-inches thick. That's ridiculously thin and light, especially when you consider that it's got a 5+ hour battery life.
Explore some of the features of the Dell Adamo yourself on their site. They aren't holding back on the hyperbole: Dell writes that the Adamo has "inner strength" and "quick wit." They repeatedly mention "falling in love" with the Adamo. In addition to being available in both the "admire" and "desire" models, the Adamo is available in different bundles too, like the "jet-setter" and "entrepreneur" packages which include cases, adapters, bags and the like.
Alright guys, you're laying it on a bit thick. Sure the Adamo is cool, but it is, after all, a laptop, not, say, a spouse or private jet. But despite their shameless use of superlatives, there is no denying the fact that the Adamo is a good looking and supercharged fashion accessory. The only catch: at four pounds, it's a full pound heavier then the MacBook Air.
It's available in two colors too (linguistically mild by Adamo marketing standards), onyx and pearl.
Oh and, in case the 13.4 inches of the Adamo are too bulky for you, Dell accidentally leaked info alluding to an upcoming Adamo 9. Hmm. I wonder what the Adamo 9 will be... a 9-inch, netbookish take on its big sibling perhaps? Look out Sony VAIO P, the Dell Adamino is coming!
