HP Unveils New Business Laptops Priced like Netbooks
HP's ProBook S-Series laptops are designed with business users in mind, coming in 14, 15.6, and 17.3-inch meat casings. Available in either Intel or AMD flavors, some are even powerful enough to handle a little gaming for those long flights or Monday meetings. And the Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday ones! The ProBook 4410s (Intel) and 4415s (AMD) have a 14-inch widescreen display, optional Blu-ray, and either an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330 or an onboard Intel graphics card. Wi-Fi is standard, Bluetooth is optional, and you can connect to HD displays via the standard HDMI port.
Moving up a notch, the ProBook 4510s and 4515s have a larger 15.6-inch widescreen display, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and optional HP Mobile Broadband. The most noticeable difference in the 4510/5s is the addition of an integrated numeric keypad.
Last but not least is the large ProBook 4710s, with a 17.3-inch widescreen display, and the aforementioned ATI 4330 with 512MB of video memory. HP's press release says it features the '... latest Intel Core 2 Duo processors,' and has Wi-Fi, optional Bluetooth, an HDMI port and the handy integrated keypad.
Pricing starts at $529, but expect the larger and more powerful ProBook models to cost a bit more. Expected availability is June '09. The full press release can be found at HP.com.
