We were told we would have to wait until September to get our hands on the latest version of Mac OS X, but it appears Snow Leopard might be sneaking up on us a little early. Late yesterday, the Apple online store in the UK was reporting Snow Leopard would be shipping by August 28. And even after being reported in several venues, Apple hasn’t changed it.
Then the clincher came when some Engadget tipsters revealed that a US shipping confirmation gave the exact same ship-by date. You can see the shipping confirmation below. Apple still hasn’t said anything official about the early ship date, so it’s possible this is either a nice gift to Mac users or a worldwide glitch. Either way, you could stand to benefit if you’re one of the people who just can’t get Snow Leopard fast enough.
