Apple did an excellent job creating their multimedia desktop: the Apple iMac. This multimedia computer is an all-in-one system that features an excellent display screen, energy-saving features and a strong processor and operating system. Even though the design of this device is excellent for multimedia, this computer does not offer a large selection of features and is lacking in storage space. But for what this computing device does offer, it puts several PCs to shame.

The Apple iMac is an all-in-one computer with a gorgeous display. This multimedia computer offers either a 21.5-inch or 27-inch display screen with full HD resolution. It also features LED backlighting, which enhances the images and design and provides ideal viewing for all your media. The Apple iMac is fairly compact when you consider the hardware is all behind the screen. The 21-inch model is only 7.42 inches thick, 17.75 inches tall and 20.8 inches wide. It weighs 20.5 pounds, which is light compared to several similar products. The Apple iMac is also Energy Star qualified and consumes only 205 watts of power during use.

The 21.5-inch Apple iMac features the Intel Core i5 processor. This processor makes applications run smoothly and without much difficulty. This processor also features speeds of 2.5 GHz, which isn’t anything extraordinary compared to several similar devices. This multimedia computer also provides the AMD Radeon HD 6750M graphics card, which enhances the images on the iMac and makes this truly an excellent choice for editing multimedia, viewing HD videos and running the newest games.

One of the standout features on this multimedia computer is the OS X Lion operating system. This operating system provides many features such as FaceTime, Photo Booth, Mission Control and more. It is user-friendly and helps you easily navigate and run the applications you need to without any difficulty.

Aside from the design features, this multimedia computer does not offer a wide selection of features. There is a mini display port located on the device, which supports both DVI and VGA connection. There is also an audio in and out port and an SDXC card slot. The Apple iMac features a webcam and built-in microphone to help support video chat capabilities. Unfortunately, there are only four USB ports, which is quite a small number compared to several similar devices.

There are 500GB of hard drive space included on this multimedia computer. This is plenty of room for your movies, music and photos. There are 4GB of RAM featured on the Apple iMac, which is the same amount of memory you would find on your basic multimedia computer. The biggest drawback is the 0.5GB of video memory included on the device. This is one of the smallest amounts of memory available and we were hoping to see more on this Apple computer.
