Gateway LT3100 Crams Laptop Specs Into Netbook Body
We're not entirely sure what Gateway is up to at the moment, but I don't think we're going to complain. Essentially they're giving us a netbook-sized laptop. The new LT3100 runs for only $400 and has the tiny screen, but doesn't have the Atom processor that makes netbooks so ... um, not laptopish. More specs after the jump.Coming in at 11.6" on the display, the LT3100 is right in the running as far as screen size goes on netbooks. But after that, the similarities start to disappear. For one, it actually look really nice, and two, they're running a 1.2GHz single-core AMD Athlon 64 L110 processor. There is also 2GB RAM and a 250GB hard drive ... nothing thrilling as far as laptop specs go, but when you slap the netbook size, moniker and price on it, suddenly those specs look significantly better. It also has an LED backlight and multitouch trackpad.
Coming in either Cherry Red or NightSky Black, the LT3100 is available now. For more on the latest tech news and gadgets, check out these other blog posts:
