Leaked Tech Specs for Upcoming Sony Netbook

As a matter of principle, Im generally distrustful of anything foreigners say. This isnt due to a politically incorrect xenophobia, but rather rooted in my nostalgia for the Cold War when anything foreign had an air of menace to it. Thats why Im a bit skeptical to accept as fact netbooknews.des statements about Sonys netbook.
Oh, and nota bene the .de domain suffixthats right! *.de* Deutschlandthe former DDR (Deutsche Demokratische Republik). You think DDR RAM and DDR, the popular video game, are just coincidences of title?
I smell a carefully crafted plot that penetrates the highest echelons of the international tech business.
But despite any potentially nefarious motives, the Deutschlanders manage to give us a glimpse at some alleged features and specs of Sonys VAIO P netbook. Behold:
- 1.33GHz Atom Z250 processor
- 2GB RAM
- SSD ready
- GPS capability
Those are some particularly impressive specs for an 8 or 9-inch netbook. The large RAM reservoir hints at the possibility of Windows 7 as an OS. This is a good thing, because as we all know, an OS OS (or Open Source Operating System ) is just thinly veiled communism.
The Sony VAIO P wont be a particularly affordable netbook if our intel is accurate, but then again, we expected the high 1600 x 768 screen resolution to come at a premium. The Germans are expecting a price tag of 700 Euros. In Merican money thats about $950.
Naturlich, Im taking this news with a grain of salt. So should you, mein freund. I cant really see the Sony VAIO P redefining the way we see mobile computing. For the meantime, its a bit too early to say much more. Sony should be unveiling their netbook at CES this week.
Stay tuned for CES updates. Our operatives will be on location transmitting sensitive information to our blog. In the meantime weve got reviews of the latest netbooks and plenty more tech news for you to browse:
