More Sources Confirm Apple Netbook Rumor
Just yesterday we reported the Commercial Times threw fuel on the Apple netbook fire with information indicating the Apple touchscreen netbook was in production and could come out as early as this summer. Today Dow Jones Newswires says they have two more people "close to the situation" that have confirmed the Apple netbook's arrival.
The Dow Jones Newswire gets a little more specific about the Apple netbook, calling it a mini laptop (predictable, Apple will want to avoid the mediocre connotations of the word netbook) and revealing the screen would be between 9.7 and 10 inches.
The previous information about Wintek creating the touchscreens and Quanta Computer assembling the netbooks was also confirmed.
Even though the fabled Apple netbook may turn out to be real, Yuanta Securities analyst Vincent Chen warns that you probably won't see large orders for it. "Apple is unlikely to make very cheap products. The netbook would most likely be very niche, meaning volume is going to be small."
