The MSI X-Slim series has been in the works for a while now. MSI was even talking about the X-Slim back in January at CES. No specs were made official though until CTIA. TopTenREVIEWS is at the show in Vegas now and we just had a chance to take a hands on look at the two MSI X-Slim laptops. The laptops look great and definitely will give the MacBook Air a run for its money. Keep reading for video and specs.

The X-Slim is available in two configurations: the X320 and X340. Both laptops feature a 13.4-inch display, weigh 2.8 pounds, and run Vista. The entry level MSI X-Slim X320 features a 1.6 GHz Atom Z530 processor, 2 GB of RAM, 250 GB of hard drive space and 3G network capability. Its graphics controller is the Intel GMA500 which provides solid standard definition video. The MSI X-Slim X320 will run about $700.

The supercharged X-Slim flagship, the X340 boasts the same form factor but ups the ante by entering the HD arena. The key features of the X340 include an HDMI out, the Intel GMA4500MHD video card, and the Intel ULV SU3500 processor. The ULV processor is six times more energy efficient than your run of the mill laptop processor. The MSI X-Slim X340 is expected to retail for less than $1,000.
