Sony Vaio P Gets an Upgrade, Still Ridiculously Expensive
Sony is still trying to breathe life into the netbook that's not a netbook. Sony announced some new upgrades to the Vaio P that certainly make it better, but still not worth the price tag.The latest Vaio P will now cost you $1500. So what will that get you? The upgrade includes a 1.6GHz Atom processor (used to be 1.33GHz), a 128GB SSD, GPS and Verizon Mobile Broadband equipment. We love all those upgrades, we really do, but it's still not worth $1500.
Another problem: The Vaio P still comes with Windows Vista. Why would you try to run Vista on a glorified netbook when you can either get XP on a much cheaper netbook or wait for Windows 7 to come out and STILL get it on a much cheaper netbook. Sorry, Sony, but just like everything you do, it's too little for too much.
